It’s official! Shane is part of our family! There’s no denying that Shane knew this was a special day. He couldn’t look happier! He was only about a year and a half in this photo. I keep thinking there’s no way he could have known the significance. But as we were in the courtroom listening to the judge, he stayed still in my arms, extremely attentive as if he was listening and understanding every word. He just experienced a tough transition.

Meeting us for the first time as strangers, leaving his home country of South Korea for the first time with us, and too young to communicate, even his native language. It really shows how resilient even a small child can be in the face of adversity and the unknown. Reminds me every day to stay positive, take things as they come, and know that I’m stronger than I think.
